Bag With A Sling: Painting Blue & Maroon Fashion Models Part 4 of 6

I am busy with a range of bags where the focal point is the art pieces in the centre panels of the bag. In the first two blogs I shared tips on how to construct the pattern and how to sew the bag. In the third blog I showed you how to paint some fashion models in blue. I continue with this idea in today's blog, but this time we add some maroon to our fashion range.

I start by painting the backgrounds of the centre panels yellow.

I allow the paint to dry and then I fix the colour to the fabric by ironing it with a hot iron.

I use Dala Acrylic Ink in Black, along with a dip pen to draw the figures on the sheeting.

I start at the head.

Then I add the body.

For the second figure, I once again start at the head.

I develop the upper body.

I add the arms.

Then I add the legs and detail.

I use Dala Fabric Paint to paint the figures.

I lay the figures side by side so that I can pain them at the same time.

I start with blue.

I then add maroon.

I paint the shoes and clutch bag in black.

The flesh parts are painted pink.

The hair is made brown.

Lastly, I add more blue detail.

Once the paint is dry, I fix the colours with a hot iron.

This is what the bag looks like once finished. This is a view of the inside of the bag.
