Making Creamy Garlic Snails

Snails may not be everyone's idea of a delicious meal, but those of us who enjoy it are usually sold out lovers of the dish. I share a friend's recipe for cooking creamy garlic snails in less time than you could imagine in today's blog. This is truly an incredibly delicious meal served with any of the freshly baked breads I have blogged about. My preference leans towards a plain White Bread Loaf.

Chop 1 onion finely and fry in warm oil in a large pan.

Add 75 ml crushed garlic, 15 ml salt and 15 ml freshly ground black pepper to the pan.

Add 1 tin of snails, water drained.

Add 250 ml fresh cream and 200 ml milk. Bring to the boil and reduce heat to simmer.

Mix 2 tablespoons (25 ml) cake flour with water and add it to the pan to thicken the sauce.

Remove the pan from the heat once the sauce is thickened.

Serve hot with freshly baked bread.
