Sewing a Pair Of Pants

In yesterday's blog I showed you how to lay out the pattern for a pair of pants. We then cut the pattern out on fabric and I left off promising to show you how to sew the pants. My client changed her mind on the pockets and I could not include those in the blog, but here follows the directions for sewing this very simple pair of pants.

This is the pattern we are working from.

Lay the back and front panels with right sides facing on top of each other. Sew at 1,5 cm seam allowance along the inner leg seam. Do this with both legs.

Line up the front crotches and the back crotches and pin. Right sides should be facing.

Sew all along the crotch at 1,5 cm seam allowance.

Pin the side seams with the right sides facing.

Sew along the side seam at 1,5 cm.

Fold and pin the waist. Sew at 5 cm. Leave an opening to insert the elastic.

Pull the elastic through the seam at the waist.

Sew the two ends of the elastic together.

Pin the hems of the pants.

Sew the hems.

In no time at all you will have a pretty pair of pants to add to your wardrobe.
