Cardmaking with Watercolour Paintings

I had quite a bit of time on my hands at work recently and spent a part of it in giving some of my colleagues painting tips. We all settled on watercolours as these are relatively cheap to purchase and easy to carry to and fro. In the process, I ended up with a large number of watercolour paintings that I had not intended to do. As a result, I decided to turn these into cards. I show you how to do this in today's blog.

Find coordinating paper and cardboard to make the card. Fold the cardboard in half to serve as card.

Crop the matting and the painting to fit the card.

Ink the edges of both the painting as well as the matting.

Glue the painting to the matting.

Glue the matted painting to the card.

Add some stamped corners to the card.

The completed card.

Find some coordinating paper and cardboard for the second project.

Fold the cardboard in half to use as card.

Crop the matting and the painting to fit the card.

Glue the painting to the matting.

Glue the matting to the card.

Add some sticker photo corners.

The completed card.

For the third project, I found a pre-cut frame that would suit the project. I also found a tiny piece of silver paper that I liked that was left over from previous project. All that was left to add, was the cardboard to make the card from.

Fold the cardboard in half to make the card.

Crop the painting to the desired size.

Glue the frame to the painting.

Glue the framed painting to the card.

Glue the silver paper to the inside of the card. This is where I will write my message later on.

Add some flower and butterfly embellishments which is glued onto the card.

Glue some rhinestones to two corners of the card.

The completed card.

The three completed cards that we made in this blog.
