Cardmaking: Watercolours & Ink - Free-Flow Flowers

Today we allow some drops of ink to run freely onto wet paper. We then turn these shapes into free-form flowers, before turning the end result into a card to be used on a special occasion.

Drop some water onto watercolour paper.

Shape the water into puddles with rough flower shapes.

Drop Dala Acrylic Ink, or another brand you prefer, onto the puddles. The ink will spread into the puddles.

You can manipulate the ink with a brush if you prefer, or you can tilt your page to let the ink run freely.

Once the ink is dry, use a black marker to draw some rough flowers into the ink blotches.

Add watercolour detail to the flowers, if you prefer.

The finished painting.

Find coordinating cardstock to turn the painting into a card.

Fold the cardboard in half to form a card.

Crop the matting and the painting to the desired sizes.

Stick the painting to the matting.

Stick the matting to the card.

Glue some fabric butterflies onto the card.

Use a white marker to add some highlights to the card.

The finished card.
