Cardmaking: Hearts on Edge Cut with Cricut

We once again make use of the hearts we had cut, using the Cricut Expression 2, earlier. This time we arrange them every which way on the edge of a card to mimic the craziness of falling in love. We cut some coordinating paper strips to ground the hearts, before splashing it up with some rhinestones. I show you the tricks for making this card in today's blog.

This is the layout that I cut on the Cricut Expression 2.

Feed the first sheet of paper into the machine.

Remove the backing and cutouts carefully from the sticky cutting sheet.

Feed the second sheet of paper into the machine.

Here you can see the programmed shapes more clearly.

Feed a third sheet of paper into the machine.

The fourth and last sheet of paper was fed into the machine.

The cutouts I was left with at the end of the project.

I start the project with an A4 sheet of cardboard in pink.

Fold the card over, just short of the half-way mark.

You will stick the hearts down to fill the gap left by the top part of the card.

Fill the edge of the card, from top to bottom, with hearts.

Cut a piece of coordinating paper, 2" in width.

Cut yet another piece of coordinating paper to measure 1" in width.

Crop the length to fit the length of the card.

Do this for both pieces of paper.

Stick the first strip of paper down on the card. I used a ruler to make sure I got it precisely in the right place.

Stick the larger strip of paper down to slightly overlap the first.

Make a line of glue dots next to the paper strips.

Carefully arrange the rhinestones on these glue dots.

Your card is now ready to be given to someone special.
