How to put grommets in your curtains

These days there are plenty of easy ways to hang curtains which makes hanging them a breeze. I especially love those metal/plastic holes where you simply slide the rod through them. Being a DIY girl, I always wondered how I could make those myself. I found this nifty tool, called the Dejuca Grommet Tool, in a hardware store and have not looked back since. These are available in various sizes.

For the purposes of this blog, I am going to assume that you can make curtains and simply concentrate on adding the grommets. You should leave the adding the grommets as the last step when making your curtains. This is what the tool looks like and it comes with very clear, easy to follow instructions on the back.

Place the grommets on the tool with the male on top and the female at the bottom.

Carefully slide the tool over the top seam of the curtain.

Hammer the grommet and washer into place. Often the fabric will simply pop out at this stage. The stubborn ones can be cut out with sharp point scissors.

Measure carefully so that your grommets are evenly spaced and repeat. Within no time your curtains are ready to hang.
