Art Journal: Let's Take Hands

In today's art journal blog, I contemplate the importance of having someone in your life who would be willing to look out for us. We need to recognize the fact that we all need someone to take our hand at some point in life. This is very much the childhood principle of taking hands when moving in a group on any outing. Mutual assistance and responsibility for each other is the cornerstone of a well functioning society.

I start the blog on the usual black paper with a polycolor pencil.

I draw some very loose figures holding hands.

I write the journaling in a gold pencil:
"We all need someone who will look out for us. Life is easier when we take hands."

I colour the dresses in pale shades.

I make sure to include different skin tones when I colour the figures.

The hair is also painted in different shades of soft pastels. I add some foundations for the figures to stand on so they won't appear to be floating.

The completed layout.
