Art Journal: Cuddlesome Bunny

We live in a world where we all need some tender-loving care from time to time. There is a time to grab a bunny to hug, and there is a time to be the bunny that gets hugged. I meditate on this in today's art journal blog.

I start this journal entry on my usual black paper, with a white polycolor pencil and a black eraser at the ready.

I quickly draw the outline of a bunny.

I then use a gold pencil to write the journal entry, before drawing two corn sheaths at the bottom of the page. The journal entry reads as follows:
"People are bound to cross your path, who are in need of a bit of tender-loving care. If it is a cuddle they need, be a cuddlesome bunny to them. There will come a day when you too will need a hug and a little cuddle, and then the good seed that you've sown will sprout and bear a fruitful harvest.

I then use a handful of earth tone pastels to paint the bunny.

I spray the pastels with artist fixative to prevent it from smudging.
