Cardmaking: Watercolours - Twigs

In today's blog, I show you how to make a very simple watercolour painting of two twigs with leaves on them. We then turn this cute little painting into a card to be used for a special occasion.

I use a watersoluble grey pencil to start my sketch with, drawing two curved twigs.

I then use a combination of water-soluble pencils and a black marker to add leaves to the twigs.

I develop both twigs along this vine. Pun intended.

Then I paint the leaves with my watercolour set.

The completed painting.

I now want to transform this painting into a card. I find matting paper and cardboard that compliments the picture.

Fold the cardboard in half to form a card.

Crop the matting and the painting to the required size.

Stick the painting to the matting and ink the edges of the matting.

Stick the matting to the card.

The finished card.
